| | itchy | ] | So, about a week and a half ago, I got what looked like a series of bug bites. I figured that they were just mosquito bites from asdr83 and laurion's wedding. (The lake was beautiful but buggy, and I remember Jen got somewhat eaten, too.) Anyway, I didn't worry about it much, though I did pack some Calamine lotion for this trip just in case.
I don't know what it actually is, but I swear to god it is spreading. The calamine is the only thing keeping me from scrathing myself raw. I am in a foreign country where I do not speak the language.
And it's too early to call my doctor.
Fuckery. |

Poison Ivy? If so, it WILL keep spreading if you've gotten any of the oil on your clothes and not washed them with sufficiently strong detergent.
Possibly, but the only time I've really been outdoors was the wedding, which is now a week and a half ago. Anyway I was wearing a formal dress that I have not put back on. It's occurred to me that it could be any of these as well. Bloody hell. My ObGyn is being difficult to get a hold of, but I made an appt with my dermatologist for when I get back... just in case it doesn't go away
As I recall, Pharmacies in Europe do some healthcare stuff. You could try fining a picture of poison Ivy on the Web, print it out and bring it (and your rash) to a pharmacy. I am not sure if it grows in Europe, but it might communicate well enough.
Of course short of more calamine lotion, I am not sure what they can do for you?
I'm scared to buy something here because I can't read the ingredients and will thus not be able to check for possible teratogens. Don't want to be smearing myself with steroids when carrying baby...
True enough. And while you are pretty visibly on the mommy track, what Europe considers "just fine" for expectant mothers, and what the US considers "just fine" may be significantly different!
I've got some of those too, half a dozen on my arms. Not really spreading, in my case, but damned itchy. | |
