| I Can Haz Alien Lifeform... |

I took the liberty of drawing in the outline of said lifeform in the second copy of each picture, as ultrasounds generally look like they were taken underwater, in the dark. (Which, arguably, they are.)
Baby is normal and ok - has the right number of appendages and a heartbeat - no, we don't know the gender yet.
The ultrasound people seem to think (based on size) that it is 2 weeks younger than we think it is. Given as how we did the whole thing with charting ovulation, it seems unlikely that we were that far off. Personally, I think it's just little. The thyroid bullshit probably didn't help, either. Anyway, Jack was a five pound baby (and at a month late, too) so that may have more to do with it.
As all systems appear normal, I can't be bothered to worry about it too much. They're looking at moving my expected delivery date farther out into February, which frankly is just as well. I expected it to be late, so if they move the date out, it might just show up when they expect it. |

A friend of mine told her doctor not even to give her a due date, since it's so meaningless. She just wanted a range during which she might expect the baby.

HOW IS BABBY FORMED? HOW LAURA GET PRAGNET???
This is so cool. I know I'm crazy, but at first glance whatever organ is next to the baby looked like a second kid. Are you guys going to find out the sex before hand?

Well, when a mommy and a daddy like each other pretty well, and they haven't got anything to do on a Fridy night...
Yes, we're planning to, if it obliges. It's pretty camera shy, though.

Better mine than Jack's. :)
My ultrasound tech screwed up the estimated birthdate by writing down the wrong date for my LMP. So I spent most of my pregnancy under the assumption that the critter would arrive 10 days earlier than his real target date. In other words, the u/s predictions are full of shit (if you got an u/s at 7 weeks that is - amazingly enough - much more predictive of your kid's arrival date). Congratulations! | |
